Dear Parents - do you want children to still be born in 4 generations time?

The 2020s are most exciting times to be alive- will grandparent, parent and youth cooperate through education, inventment and technology to save the human race from extinction? Please note this invitation involves exponential consequences. We are concerned that early in the 2100s the last human being will perish- that means your children will have increasingly hopeless lives as they start to see their children will not have any grandchildren. This timeline is not exact but it is one we have been debating since the moon landing. Entrepreneurial Revolution has grown as a curriculum since that time around the hypothesis (now demonstable) that man would double time and money spent on communtions tech every 7 years from 1946 to 2030. The opportunity and threat of the era of sustainbility goals led by the heroic Antonio Guterres at United Nations since the end of 2015 is that this is a time of designing worldwide human relationships as we accelerate through 1000 to 4000+ times moore tech

At NormanMacrae.net You can see nearly 40 years of norman reviews of optimistic futures for nations around the world and how technology's death of distance would require learning exchanges across hemispheres if sustainability is our human purpose. More recently as Norman struggled with termina cancer from 2005 he sponsored 15 young journalists to visit Bangladesh and China to question exiting topics like girl empowerment and help ada smth scholars print 20000 copies of jurmal of social business out of Glasgow University. Some of the young jourmalist for himanity personally debriefed Norman and Dr Muhammad Yunus at his last public birthday party @ St James London 2008- pther kindly helped host remembrance parties at embassies and other places where youth ambassadors of sustaining generation are seen to be gelping with the edutech revolution Norman cheered on.

We have formed a strong view from these 15 years of practice-led dialogues. Rich western nations' politiicians, educators and media often know least about solutions to sustainability goals assuming we want to achieve them for all including the wprld's poorest goals or youth who are being dislocated by wars or climate incluced phenomenon.  If you visit the south or east coastal belts of Asia where half of the world's people live on less that 20% of land, you will either talk to girls who are still trying to end poverty (eg without access to electriocity grids) or families where solving how to develop beyongd subsistence is still a living memorry. If you are a fifth grade teacher, one of the relevant uses of the new technology is to ask your class to put on virtual reality googles- so they can experience life and schooling as if they lived in any of the places where sustainability gpals are literally a life shaping challenge. When I grew up one way children were encouraged to apprecaite differences around the world was to form penfriends- lierally to exchange snail mail between classes of the same age. Today at the speed of web, you can text or wechat directly between young people everywhere. The courage and love of communities of girl empowerment in Bangladesh are not diversity's only need for digital and real cooperation.

Let's review coastal belts. That's if you have time and courage to come on such a virtual expedition. And let's make diaries (EconomistDiary is a blog including such events as United Ntions open source report on digital cooperation March 2019- see who's helping edit it now, the Tokyo Olypics in summer 2020 which Jack Ma as main education sposor invites us all to make the greates youth celebration of all times for heroines of all sorts now just sporting stars) of events which may be turned by young gradiates into the missing curriculum of designing a global village world which is back in sync with mother nature and where the joy of doing the billions of new jobs needed so that great great great grand children do not just exist but thrive is shared across hemisphers and peoples as the most exciting race of all times

LIVING WITH TECH THAT MAKES US OVER 4000 TIMES MOORE CONNECTED THAN 1946
Imagine an action learning networked world in which organisational value is mainly driven by goodwill, and goodwill is audited according to how much value an organisation multiplies for others. Externalisation of compound risk is out. MBAs need to know that if they do that the organisation’s value will be zeroized and they will never be accepted as fit to manage anything again. Unless you can imagine integrating this quality of community cooperation UN March 2019 onwards, it is very unlikely you will have any great granddaughters. Homo sapiens will have ceased to exist.

Where did such wonky economic modeling come from? The writings over 60 years of Norman Macrae mainly in the post world war 2 #TheEconomist. Before we profile where Norman’s logics came from, try out one more exercise loosely base on Macrae’s determination to breakthrough conventional thinking with optimistic rationalism

lovecountry.jpg

Of course this slide is just a starter- but teachers and students should be debating this across nations- the tech makes this easy- its only by

making children and teachers aware of helping each others countries that children have any chance

of becoming the sustainability generation- this is just one example of how  education needs to get into exploring/search mode not examine on we are perfect mode

in any topoc in which sustainability is not yet what we are linking in

Dedication: To Norman Macrae by son chris, grandaughter Isabella

19Forties: you would have found Norman spending his last days as a teenager navigating airplanes over modernday Myanmar and Bangladesh; surviving the war he went up to Cambridge where he was in one of last classes to be mentored by Keynes; norman married the daughter of Sir Kenneth Kemp -from a family that had spent 3 generations in India as pharmacists, nurses and social lawyer; as Britain’s chief justice to Mumbai Sir Kenneth held court over fellow Barrister Mahatma Gandhi for quarter of a century with the consequence that sir ken’s last project was to write up the legalese of the independence of the Indian subcontinent. From 1948 Norman started 60 years of journalism, mainly at The Economist. His specialist subject ask leaders and entrepreneurs- how are you improving the human lot. In particular, Norman as a disciple of Keynes aimed to explore the question : is my generation and children and grandchildren connecting round ending poverty with sustainability’s overarching goal of accelerating the day when the next girl born will have a fair chance at living life to the full whichever community she is born into. In the last chapter of Keynes General Theory of employment, money and interest, a clear thiesis of how the world's futures are ruled by economist is advanced. Keynes goes as far as to say that elderly academic economiost pose the greatest threat to youth - when old rules however perfect historically conflict with future change. In light of this Keynes asked his profession to tak a hippocratic oath to design systems around sustainabililty's most pivotal goal. Mathematically very few western economists support Keynes today - scary but true.

To Norman as to all entrepreneurial alumni of Adam Smith's hi-trust value chians: the world wars showed over 400 years of mercantile colonisation were over- there was a huge amount of work to do - back in 1500 economies correlated with population size making the region connecting India the biggest; by the time Britain exited, colonisation's win lose trading patterns had spred poverty across India -1948 starting from a fifth of the gdp  that nature had intended the south coatal Belt of Eurasia to sustain .

1950s Norman turned up as the only journmalist at Messina where the EU was conceived

2005 on norman struggled with cancer during his last 3 years of writing and his last 5 years of life- so he set up a trust that enabled nearly 20 young sustainabilty journalists to visit banglaldesh and china - two countries which have empowered similar but very differently scaled miracles round valuing women since 1972 in ways that half of the world's people can lear from (ie those whose world trading potential connects with the spouth and east coatsal belts of Eurasia-

in remembrance of norman his extended family have tried to celebrate 3 sorts of cooperation platforms:

journal of social busienss mainly edited by Adam Snith scolars out of Glasgow University

small remembrance partuies with embassies and others who felt Norman made their nation happier in designing the future of its education or celebrating win-win models of world trading

Editors at The Economist discuss entrepreneurial revolution and why Norman Macrae supported Bangladeshi Microfinance ...

The Game of Fives:  we asked young journalits to play as part of research for the book world record jobs- name up to 5 leaders or innovatirs who you value most in applying job creation to how you aim to sustain future generations but please dont choose people for the sma reason- so if you love electronic engineers choose one for your top 5 while keeping others in a margin); ask a friend to do the same exercise; then compare your votes- can you find a way to merge them so you still have at most 5 different ways of studying world reord job creators

in looking at all these surveys we have decided that the first eduition of world reord jobs designed for impact up to the japan olympics in 2020 will lead with this game of five- the first two choices are very clear to us

  1. technolgust who wants to create jobs and make sure teachers everywhere link into 4000 tiomes moore communications tech- jack ma is the most celebrated benchmark of this category though our researchers margins will help us subprofile many others
  2. leader of ending ppoverty from the bottom-up - after a lot of research we believe sir fazle abed's knowhow is the first alumni network to linkin with for girls hold up half the sky- again there are lots of subprofiles our guide can help you celebrate
  3. our young people demand to know who they can trust to urgently mediate activation of sustaainabiloity goals- we suggest starting with all thye alumni of antonio guterres whose life has been mainly dedicated to fieldwork with refiugees before being asked to reconnect the whole UN from end of 2015 at the same time that the 17 sustainability development goals were launched http://www.economistrefugee.com
  4. we recommend tracking xi jinping because over 100 national leaders are discussing their nations (and continents) devekopment needs with him and how they integrate around a sustainability world trade map-you dont have to get involved in choosing geopolitical favorites to analyse this as the largest database of development ideas that can readily be searched= please note our scootish school of economists has always found that the biiget the organsiation the more you need to study its compond risks- that siad give a fifth of the world's people have one leader, history may yet show that Xi Jinping did a better job than 99% of other cadidates would have done
  5. young jourmjalist wanted somkeone whose value 9 yer olds could look up to- while there wree all sorts of local choices we see pope francis as a suitable benchmark- we are talkling about his behaviors with people, the sincere trust he represents in speaking up for climate and backing youth where elders have repeatedly forced youth to bail out their extravagant fiollies,  and his motivations not one faith organsaion versus another  -again those with detailed anthropological knowhow have helped us collect many subprofiles. It is also noticeable that when Saint Francis planted his movements - he clebrated the female clares network as health's community buulders and his own deep search for environmental good
