as you read through each column you will find how place's powerful
decision makers have made mistakes about the expoential consequences of tech- so it goes on, listen to UNGA at end of september
2019 to hear people shoyting at each other not in most cases seeking cokoperative solutions -the answer (and if we dont adress
this now mother erath will reduce our numbers from 8 billion to ever nearer zero) is the same technology that has accelerated
the failures of powerful decisin makers can be the only solution- but every nation will urgently need to chnage until it values
its youth as the only win-win currency- this will require tiotal gtrabsformation of both education and finacial sustems- shall
we just do it EconomistLearning.com the solutions to the first 6 goals can be understood by top people sending delegates

| a sustainable place is one whose next generations have as at least as good a chance at life as their parents you
might think that as larning species at lesst some of the 200 place experiments we call nations would be a benchmark for sustainability
by now -why not after world war2 we started designing what by the mid 19609s moores law had becomes 100 times
more tech each decade- an unpredented era of change: thoise who rule over medi in places be they politicians or big
business or other powerful people have not told the truth about what we have been desighning across generations- they have
been driven by short-term data or wrong data (or informaation that may have been hostorically coorect but had been chnaged
by tech)- and every time they have compounded a mistake they have taken it out on youth- eg subprine banking in which next
generations had to bail out the lost pension funds of elders- or bubbles like ever more costly health services on which again
youth have had to pay ironivally the fact is that every place needed to analagously learn from oerther places but the
most urgent lesons were differnt by place | example 1 consider over a quarter of nations sthat are
small island developing nations- they dont have much lan resources but have huge ocean estates- but thios oceans have had
plastic dumped in them killing off fish; the oceans have had to abosrb excess carbon poisoning coral and fsih; often times
these islands are situated in places where hurricanes have a probality of hitytong- but rising ocean temperatires ensures
every hurricane season becomes more voilent; to top it all after 9/11 it was concluded that a few of tehse islands had helped
money launder so all islands have start to be punished by excluding them from elcetronic acess that other nations enjoy if
you want more information on tghe natyral chalenges to these quarer of all nations watch the bbc's blue planet 2 by david

really powerful nations - usa russia and suadi profit so much from carbon that they 1) wont help thise who want to go beyond
carbon; 2) they dont even have trsuted systems of communicating between each other; they are also situated in places which
add to the havoc- so the most likely place to melt down is teh arctic circle but ussr and usa are not transparently enbgaing
other arctic circle countries in this crisis- and indeed some arctic places may short-term gain from warming up even as the
harm done to ther places is far more than any gain they get; the 3rd nation saudi is in the middle of the most complex woirld
trade watre ways of all- the suez canal as the short cut between mediterranean europe and asia- the big 6 western nations
policies to the whole middle east region havent been trasparent in living memory; the cultural clashes all around suadi are
partly ist leaders fault but have been made wiorse and worse by the big 6 wetesrn nations

.. | the 2 biggest natuons in terms of people
represneting a third of the world were the two most abused by the colonial era of empire -the result is the veiws of
their third of the human race havent been numerically represenetd in summits between nations- and even today as they provide
the graetest tyrading groiwth opportunities old g7 nations are blocking these 2 nations youth's development
